The harsh Québec climate is a breeding ground for residential foundation problems. That’s why the industry rallied together to fine tune foundation design and construction. The result is a new minimum quality standard known as "Super Foundation®".

Designed to withstand severe geotechnical and weather conditions, the ultra-resistant Super Foundation® is made of premium quality concrete, so it’s much tougher than conventional foundations.

HIGHER STANDARDS

To use the Super Foundation® designation, we must meet the following criteria:

The foundation plans must first be verified by an engineer who’s a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. Super Foundation® must be capable of resisting differential movement on a structural level. The bed must be adapted to the construction site’s geotechnical conditions.
A structural design engineer or designated representative must closely monitor each building phase of the Super Fondation®
The concrete must be made up of the high-resistance composite Impacto® concrete, and the concrete planning must be provided by a member of the ABQ. The steel and concrete must be set according to the structural engineer’s specifications.
Once the work is finished, a compliance report is submitted to the client, along with a legal warranty and a certificate confirming that the work was completed according to Super Foundation® standards.
A contractor can only offer Super Foundation® if he is accredited, and the in-house engineer must be a recognized foundation expert. The company must have a contractor’s license from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, and must have minimum liability coverage for $10 million.
