Geothermal Piles
Make a solid investment. A Pretech® pile foundation combined with geothermal system: a brilliant idea!
WHY
The geothermal heating systems use the earth as an energy source. Heat is extracted using a heat pump in conjunction with closed circuit loops pushed in the soil (ground), under your building. The thermal energy of the ground is free and infinitely renewable.
Your wallet is better off but also the environment since the conversion to geothermal energy reduces by itself the issue of up to 5 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year *
The many benefits of geothermal energy make it a "natural" choice in every sense of the term.
* Housing of approximately 3000 ft2 of living space.
Our offer

Direct-push METHOD
When the rock is more than 15 m deep, Pretech® recommends the Direct-Push method. It consists to push the HDPE pipes in the soil using specialized equipment.
This technique allows several advantages compared to drilled wells:
- It allows to insert the sensors into angles and then to insert all the loops from a single location.
- The pipes of the sensors are in direct contact with the ground and separated from each other, thus increasing their performance.
- The installation of the sensors can be done directly in the basement of a building or on the ground outside.
- There is no steel liner required; the installation is faster and cheaper.
- The installation equipment is smaller and creates no drilling mud for less damage on the ground.

Drilled Wells
Unlike direct-push method, the drilled wells are used when the rock is less than 15 m deep. The idea is here to to drill deeply, out of the overburden and bedrock, vertical wells in which we insert the thermal HDPE pipes and that we fill with a mix patching and conducive to heat exchange.
For drilling and installation of your wells, Pretech® uses the most modern equipment in the industry. They are operated by certified and qualified workers.

Geothermal Piles
The geothermal pile is a foundation pile designed to serve also as a heat exchanger. Connected to a heat pump, it can provide heat or air conditioning necessary to cool a building.
The pile is equipped with heat sensors and replaces the well usually built for the installation of a geothermal system, saving you the costs associated with drilling the wells.
If the use of piles is recommended by an engineer for the retaining of your building, using the Thermo-pile® is logical and intelligent decision that can substantially reduce your heating and cooling fees in addition to increasing the value of your building.
